Channel 4 aired "The Great ADHD Myth?" on 18 August.

For many people with ADHD, the problem was bigger than a provocative title. It was the decision to present the existence, diagnosis and treatment of a recognised condition as something still open for debate.

ADHD UK has published a detailed response to the programme and has already submitted a complaint to Ofcom. One of the points it highlights is particularly frustrating. The programme’s own end credits explained that the child at the centre of its medication experiment later restarted his medication and his schoolwork improved. (ADHD UK)

If you watched the programme and felt its portrayal of ADHD was misleading, harmful or irresponsible, please consider making your own complaint.

They have set out their concerns and provided guidance to help people explain why the programme matters. Your complaint does not need to be long or clever. Explain what you saw, why you believe it was harmful or misleading, and the impact this kind of coverage has on people living with ADHD.

A few minutes is enough. If broadcasters want to turn our lives and healthcare into a debate, the least we should do is make sure the regulator hears from the people living it.
